Retro Crafts Book – 1970s Soft Dolls To Sew And Knit

I found this great craft book in a charity shop – The Big Book Of Soft Toys by Mabs Tyler, published in 1975. It’s packed full of amazing 1970s soft dolls to make. Some cute, some quirky.. and some that are downright scary. Just had to share some of them with you. I love the designs, the bold colours, and the photography. I think this book can still be sourced online if you’d like to get hold of it. Who doesn’t love a clown toy? To be fair, these don’t spook me. They look pretty friendly. This Punch puppet however… How about Jack and the giant? I think these guys are my favourites.. Wouldn’t these be amazing on a childs mobile?! Humpty. A manic blank-eyed bride.. I would NOT want this gang at the end of of my bed.....
